How body shops work
In the morning, straightening and filling accident damage begins, in the afternoon sanding and priming follow. Sanding dust settles into fabrics, and paint residue sprays when working with the gun. In customer conversations about cost estimates or repair progress, the team has to make a well-kept impression despite the manual work. In winter the halls are often cold – an extra layer under the overall is then a must.
Resistance to sanding dust and paint
Sanding dust, body filler and paint residue settle deep into textiles. Tightly woven, dark fabrics show fewer signs of wear and can be washed more often without thinning.
Heat resistance when welding
Body welding work produces sparks and heat. Natural fibres such as cotton are preferable to synthetic materials; however, our clothing is not certified welder's protective clothing.
Customer contact at acceptance
When assessing damage and returning vehicles, employees face the customer – a uniform appearance with a company logo conveys credibility even in a workshop environment.
Sturdy seams and pockets
Tools and sandpaper in the trouser pocket, kneeling work on the underbody – seams and pockets have to withstand the daily mechanical stress.

T-shirts for body shops
The Fruit of the Loom F130 in black is the base layer in a body shop under the overall or for lighter work such as cleaning and vehicle preparation.
Sweatshirts for body shops
In cold halls or in winter as a mid layer under the work overall, the Fruit of the Loom F324 sweatshirt in black or anthracite is a good choice.
Hoodies for body shops
A hoodie with a hood additionally protects neck and ears from sanding dust when sanding and filling.
Polo shirts for body shops
For body shop master craftsmen and service advisers who discuss cost estimates and accept vehicles, a polo shirt with a logo is the more well-kept alternative to the T-shirt.
Softshell jackets for body shops
In the yard at vehicle reception or on outdoor jobs, the Regatta Ablaze Printable Softshell in black protects against wind and cold.
Rain jackets for body shops
For pick-up trips, vehicle transports or assessing damage outdoors in the rain, a rain jacket makes sense.
Work trousers for body shops
The James & Nicholson JN832 STRONG work trousers at 260 g/m² with reinforced knee areas are the right choice in a body shop: they withstand kneeling work on the underbody, sanding work and frequent washes much longer than standard trousers.
Caps for body shops
A cap protects hair and forehead from sanding dust and occasional paint spray.
Beanies for body shops
In winter in poorly heated paint shops or in the yard at vehicle handovers, a beanie makes sense.

Colours and logo
Sanding dust and paint residue are light and show least on black and anthracite. Grey suits employees in customer contact who should give a slightly lighter impression.

The company logo on the chest is immediately visible in customer conversations about repair work. On the back, we recommend the business name in sturdy print – for outdoor jobs with the recovery service or in the yard. For polo shirts for service staff we recommend embroidery, as it withstands sanding dust and frequent washing better.

Frequently asked questions from body shops
Is the team clothing suitable for body work with welding sparks?
Our clothing is predominantly made of cotton, which melts less than synthetic fabrics. However, it is not certified welder's protective clothing according to the relevant standards and does not replace the required PPE when welding. As company clothing it complements the protective equipment you have to wear anyway.
How do I get paint residue out of printed clothing?
Paint residue should be treated as fresh as possible before it hardens. Fresh water-based paint can often still be washed out; hardened paint is permanent. Dark clothing hides such signs of wear best. For exact washing instructions, the care label of the respective garment applies.
Can we print a two-colour logo – company name and workshop symbol?
Yes, multi-colour logos are no problem. Simply upload your logo file when configuring. Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG) give the best print results; we check the file before approval and get in touch if adjustments are needed.
Are there work trousers with more pockets for filling tools and sandpaper?
The James & Nicholson JN832 STRONG and the Result Workguard RT308 have several pockets for tools and small parts. For more specific requirements, our catalogue offers further models on request with holster pockets and knee pad compartments.
Do we need the same quantity for every employee, or can we mix freely?
You can mix quantities and sizes completely freely – whoever needs more gets more, whoever needs less gets less. The price tier is calculated from the total number of all items in the enquiry.
